To use the 3dmod library directly on your computer, you need to install a Cloud Storage Desktop Client software, such as Google Drive for desktop, RaiDrive, Mountain Duck, and so on.
In this example, we will guide you through installing and using the 3dmod library via the Google Drive for desktop application.
Step 1: Download and Installation
You can search for and download the installation file from Google.
After the installation process is successful, sign in to your Google account (or create a new one if you don’t have one). Your browser will ask you to grant permissions for Google Drive Desktop to access your files. Click “Allow.”
Note: The settings during the Google Drive for desktop installation process do not affect the use of the 3dmod library, so you can leave all settings as default.
Step 2: Access the 3dmod library
After successfully installing and connecting your account, you will see a new drive named “Google Drive” (or sometimes just your Drive account name).
Access this drive, and you will see a default folder named My Drive – this folder contains all the personal data in your Google Drive account.
After registering with us, you will see an additional folder appear called Shared drives. Within this folder, you will be granted access to the 3dmod Library (access privileges depend on your subscription plan). View image
You can now access the library directly on your computer through File Explorer. View Image
Method 1: Check the 3ds max version you are using (downloaded file version information may sometimes be inaccurate)
Method 2: Open a new 3d file and use Import -> Merge
Method 3: In the model folder, delete the file with the .ies suffix
Method 1: Check the type of renderer in use (the models on the website are all Vray or Corona renderers) or sometimes the renderer fails
Method 2: Check the texture name in the material table against the texture name in the folder. Sometimes the name has a suffix that does not match, leading to the file not accepting materials. You can rename the texture to solve the problem.
Method 1: Upgrade the decompression software or replace with another software
Method 2: Check whether the file download process is complete and whether the downloaded file size matches the file size on the website. If not, please download again.
